Darkness. That was all she could see for miles about. It was a complete and total abyss. She put her hand in front of her face. All that was visible was an indistinct outline. A shiver walked up her spine as the surrounding cold blanketed her wrapping itself around her tighter and tighter until she was forced to move.
Gradually, little by little, she stepped forward. Splosh. She stepped forward again. Splosh. What is that noise? She thought. What am I standing in?
By now, she had noticed that the blanket of chill didn’t reach her legs, for these limbs were quite temperate. Curiosity, instead of nonchalant terror, filled her heart as she bent down with an outstretched hand. Lukewarm liquid engulfed the fingers, then the palm, as the hand slide into the unknown. As she withdrew her hand from the liquid, a light flickered above her head. Instead of looking up like most humans would usual do, she looked down. She was determined to figure out what this warm liquid was.
A scream slipped past the young, rose colored lips as she realized what it was. The girl was standing, waist deep, in dark red...blood.
